Pankaj Tripathi is a well known Bollywood actor, who became famous after his role in Gangs of Wasseypur movie. Childhood
Pankaj Tripathi hails from a small village of Belsand in Bihar. He was born on 5th September, 1976. His father was a farmer and a pandit of the village. His mother, Hemwanti Devi, a housewife. He was born to his family after 5 siblings. Since childhood he was interested in role play and drama. He would take part in the annual drama in his village during the festival of “Chhath”. His role as a girl in that story was greatly loved by the villagers and appreciated. This motivated him to take this up as a career. While pursuing his education, he would often help his father and siblings in farming. He studied till class 11 in Belsand post which he shifted to Patna city.

Currently, he is married to Mridula Tripathi, and has a daughter with her. They got married in the year 2004.

Education
He completed class 11 education from his village, after which he was sent to Patna for higher studies. His parents hoped for him to become a doctor, but he was interested in pursuing a career in theater. He completed class 12th and joined a college. He was also into politics and joined Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. He completed a degree in Hotel Management. To sustain himself and for his stable future, Tripathi even worked at a hotel as a cook and kitchen staff for more than 2 years. He also moved to Delhi to pursue his dream in theatres, after having stayed in Patna for 7 years. He joined National School of Drama. He graduated from there in 2004, post which he moved back to Patna.
Career
Pankaj Tripathi started his career working as a cook in a hotel in Patna. After he returned to Patna from Delhi, he started working in theatre. Later in the year 2004 he moved to Mumbai and did a small role in Abhishek Bhachchan starrer movie, Run. In 2005, he was also in Apaharan. He did small roles in films following that, for nearly every year. He also worked in many television shows. His work in Gulal, which was a Start Plus show, got him a lot of appreciation. After this, Tripathi did many major movies, and his work was appreciated. He won himself many accolades for his acting in Gangs of Wasseypur (1 and 2) in 2012. The movie offers he received increased because of this, and so did the kind of roles. In 2015 he acted in Masaan, and got a lot of appreciation for that as well.
Till now Tripathi has worked with the leading names of the industry and have gained a place for himself in the industry as a talented and one of the most sought-after actors of this generation. The talented man has showed us that hard work and dedication does pay off. His roles in series like Sacred Games (1 and 2) and Mirzapur have been loved by every follower of the series.
